Industry Presented Webinar: Fuels of Engagement: [Dairy] Myth Busting and Science Trusting

During this webinar, Leslie Bonci, MPH, RDN, CSSD, a leading nutrition expert, will review popular nutrition facts and fallacies among the fitness industry and provide examples and tips for clients. She’ll help you understand how dairy foods – like milk, cheese and yogurt – can fit into healthy, sustainable eating patterns and can be a meal or snack solution including pre- and post-workout to help fuel an active lifestyle. She’ll also answer tough questions you may have or may get from your clients regarding dairy foods and beverages. Questions like: Do dairy foods cause acne? Should I be concerned about hormones in milk? Does dairy cause inflammation? Or why is chocolate milk is considered a close-to-perfect post-workout recovery beverage?

Leslie Bonci is the owner of Active Eating Advice by Leslie, a nutrition consulting company and co-founder of Performance365, a sports nutrition consulting company. Leslie was a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is a sought-after industry spokesperson. She conducts media training, lectures and writes on topics such as Communicating with Conviction, Sciensationalism, and performance nutrition. Her clients include National Dairy Council, General Mills, Wonderfuls Brands, Gatorade, KLEAN Athlete, Monsanto, Potatoes USA, the California Prune Board and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Leslie has a weekly television segment, The Winning Plate on Pittsburgh’s KDKA-TV and is frequently quoted in the media. Her undergraduate degree is in Biopsychology from Vassar College and her MPH is in Nutritional Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh. She is the author of Sport Nutrition for Coaches and the American Dietetic Association Guide to Better Digestion and co-author of Run Your Butt Off, Walk Your Butt Off, the Active Calorie Diet and Bike Your Butt Off. She has authored chapters for sports medicine and sports nutrition texts and recorded sports nutrition videos for STACK.com. Leslie is an adjunct instructor in the school of dental medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
