Participants will learn how to identify particular workstation design flaws which can contribute to poor mobility, muscle tension, fatigue and discomfort. Participants will learn how to apply basic workstation and work practice modifications in order to reduce muscle tension and discomfort and to enhance mobility, strength and work tolerance. Participants will perform basic assessments of posture, mobility and strength. Pete will teach participants how to design exercise routines for improving mobility and strength that can be performed at a workstation or desk, in an office, during a movement break or in a gym during a warm-up or cool-down sequence.
1. Perform an ergonomic quick check of computer workstations and related equipment
2. Teach ergonomic practices to reduce muscle fatigue/discomfort while enhancing work tolerance
3. Assess posture, mobility and muscle function in the neck, shoulder girdle and trunk
4. Perform/teach exercises to improve mobility and strength in neck, shoulders and trunk
5. Design exercise routines that can be done at a workstation, gym or during movement breaks
