ACSM's Health & Fitness Journal®: September - October 2023 | Using Posture to Enhance Insights on Movement Performance
1 CEC
By M. Jay Polsgrove Ph.D. and Christopher Pomerleau DPT
Everyone has a preferred “default” posture, based on a number of factors, that best stabilizes their spine and peripheral joints. Identifying the thresholds at which a client’s posture changes during a static or dynamic assessment can help us understand their impairments, prescribe useful exercises, reduce the incidence of secondary injuries, and achieve greater benefits in people with more complex injury and medical histories.
