The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an explosion of online fitness offerings. To enhance effectiveness, fitness leaders can utilize evidence-informed approaches to ensure effective and sustainable online fitness programs. Based on the literature and our own experience as fitness leaders and behavior change researchers, we provide a step-by-step approach to setting up and delivering online fitness class offerings. These strategies were selected to help fitness professionals effectively deliver virtual fitness offerings to maximize safety, ensure positive client experiences, and support exercise behavior change.
