This Exercise is Medicine® (EIM) Exercise Prescription Essentials online module was developed to provide a convenient “one-stop-shop” overview of the essential exercise prescription guidelines from the 11th edition of ACSM’s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription and the 2018 National Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.  The information is offered in a novel online platform designed to allow for a more engaging learning experience.  This module provides a foundational overview for health fitness professionals who are practicing in the field, students, or those preparing to take an ACSM certification exam. The module focuses on exercise prescription for apparently healthy individuals. Additional modules that demonstrate how to tailor an exercise prescription to various medical conditions are available in the EIM Online Course.  A helpful pdf document of the information presented is included as an adjunct to support learning.
