Description: Integrative Plenary Lecture | Team-Based Approach to Treating an Injured Athlete: Integrating Basic Science, Clinical Care and Coaching to Successfully Return an Injured Athlete to Competition from ACSM's 2022 Annual Meeting & World Congresses

The case of a 15 yo High School Runner will be used to demonstrate a team based approach to evaluation, treatment and return to sport participation. The team included: medical staff (Sports Medicine and Endocrinology Physicians, Athletic Trainer, Physician Associate), basic and applied scientists (Biomedical Engineer, Exercise Physiologist), Nutritionist, Clinical Psychologist, and High School Coach. Through coordinated communication and treatment approach, the athlete was successfully treated and returned to sport through addressing the issues, both physical and psychological that contributed to the injuries.

Content: This course includes one video and a session evaluation.
