ACSM's 2017 Health & Fitness Summit Online CEC: Practical Tips to Implement EIM in Various Work Settings
By Renee Jeffreys-Heil and Johanna Ferguson
Exercise is Medicine (EIM) is, at its core, a referral network where healthcare professionals can refer patients to qualified fitness professionals. This session will focus on issues surrounding the creation of an EIM program at various types of organizations: private doctor’s offices, hospital systems, and on a university or college campus. Attendees will learn from research and case studies, and will be provided the tools to successfully implement an EIM Referral network.
Learning Objectives
· Identify the challenges associated with creating the EIM solution;
· Highlight successful EIM programs and how they overcame those challenges;
· Discuss the current status of EIM and how health and fitness professionals can get involved in the initiative.
