Explore the development of the fetus and maternal adaptations throughout pregnancy. Understand how pregnancy influences future health and delve into the developmental origins of health and disease. 

Module 2: Exercise During Pregnancy - Guidelines, Myths, and Misconceptions 
Dispel common myths surrounding exercise during pregnancy and learn about the history and evolution of exercise guidelines. This module covers contraindications to exercise and includes a "Get Active Questionnaire" tailored for pregnancy. 

Module 3: Exercise During Pregnancy - Trimester by Trimester 
Review the Guidelines for Physical Activity throughout Pregnancy, focusing on exercise adaptations and modifications specific to each trimester. Gain insights into the experiences of pregnant athletes and the role of resistance training. 

Module 4: Labor, Delivery, and the Postpartum Period 
Understand the impact of sleep and sedentary behavior during pregnancy, along with the physiological changes that occur during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. This module emphasizes the importance of physical activity in reducing future chronic disease risks and promotes behavior change for an active lifestyle during and after pregnancy. 

All course content will be presented to you electronically after your purchase. To earn your certificate of completion and CECs, you must view the course content and pass the final assessment (earning a 80% or better).

This course expires one year (365 days) from the date of purchase. All course content must be completed prior to the expiration date. ACSM will not offer refunds, transfers or course credits for uncompleted courses prior to their expiration date, or for duplicate purchases. ACSM does not allow substitutions, refunds or credits for this course.
