Her research involves using exercise as an independent variable to disrupt homeostasis and drive adaptations for improved health and well-being in multiple populations including adult survivors of cancer, adolescent minority populations with obesity, and improving bone mineral density in women. Dr. Papanek's graduate work and post-doctoral studies were in animal models of hypertension and she has maintained active collaborations with the Clinical and Translational Research Center of SE Wisconsin and the Department of Physiology at MCW with an overall interest in disease prevention and wellness in human populations.
