Description
Facilitates a synergistic partnership among ACSM's 12 Regional Chapters allowing them to meet their missions, enhance communication among regional chapters & the ACSM National Office, and monitor regional chapter activities to ensure they are consistent with the goals of ACSM. Committee members are appointed by their respective Regional Chapters. This Committee is not open for new appointments.
Eligibility
The Regional chapters Committee (RCC) shall consist of one elected/appointed representative from each of the regional chapters, of whom, at least three are Fellows, who are then recommended to the President for appointment. Selections shall be based upon expertise in the duties required by the RCC. Representatives must be ACSM members or Fellows. Committee members shall serve for three consecutive years. Elections/appointments shall be scheduled so that in any given year at least two-thirds of the members are retained on the committee. The term shall begin immediately following the ACSM Annual meeting. The President may extend the term of any committee member if s/he deems so necessary.
Description
The Membership Committee promotes continued growth of ACSM, continued retention of members and continued recruitment of qualified new members. The Committee also makes recommendations concerning ACSM membership as requested. The Membership Committee shall evaluate considered changes and/or additions to requirements for membership in ACSM and to categories of membership in ACSM.
