Description
The Medical Education Committee’s charge is to provide input in the planning and implementation of the Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities for physicians of the. ACSM is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor CME for physicians. Therefore, the ME must remain compliant with the ACCME Criteria and Standards for Commercial Support in order to maintain accreditation.
The Medical Education Committee provides assessment of CME activities that lead to improved quality of medical care and CME content. The Committee will include standing subcommittees responsible for specific functions of the Medical Education Committee to support the CME process for physician members of the College.
Eligibility
The Medical Education (ME) Committee shall consist of no less than five and not more than fifteen physicians (MD or DO), of whom at least three must be Fellows whose professional backgrounds and current positions reflect the diverse group of specialties of the physician membership of the College. The appointments shall be made on the basis of expertise required by the duties of the Committee and reflect the expertise and experience needed to carry out any special projects and tasks to be performed by the committee.
